I have a lcd hdtv but my direct tv reciever is not hd.?

Right now I have regular cables connected to the AV. If I get component cables instead of regular cables and connect it to component connection, will this better the image?

I'm sorry, but the only way to get the full benefit out of your HDTV is to up-grade to a HD-satellite receiver box. Anything else will not give you what you payed for in that TV.
