S-video port is fuzzy?

hi i have just brought a s-video 4 pin cable and attached to my computer (toshiba salitlite pro A100) it comes up on the screen all fuzzy and black. i realy need help because i have to give a presentaion tomorow on a tv. plz dont tell me to download stuff cause ive tried that and ive tried changing the reselotion but that hasnt helped either. got any idea?

Answer:
S-video is the worst way to connect a PC to a TV since there is no way for any timing or EDID info to pass between the two devices via S-Video (or composite).

Your PC needs to know the exact resolution of the screen, so you need to try a few and see what works best. If it is an HD TV, try 1280x720 or 1365x720.

Make sure that the S-Video is properly grounded - Improper S-video cables will create the fuzziness, but you should still have color.
