HDTV Problems: Basic Cable & Ps2 look blurry but PC is Perfect?
I connected my PS2 to the tv and it came out really blurry. Sound is perfect, but the picture is very grainy and blurry.
I connected my cable box to the ANT IN also and the channels were all blurry, too.
I didn't try any HD Channels, because i just switched to Time Warner and am not sure which the channels are.
What is the problem?
Is it the cables or the TV?
Answer:
NEITHER..it's the Signals..
Both are Low Definition signals and a Hi Definition TV "line doubles" the 480i line signal into 960i so the TV can present a picture.
It kinda magnifies all the shortcomings of Low Definition signals.
Turn down the sharpness control all the way, that may help some.
Now your PC looks good because you're running either 800 x 600 or 1280 x 768 resolution.thats WAY higher resolution than a PS2 or Cable can deliver...
You'll see this situation with ANY Hi Def TV..
well your problem could be that your not used to seeing sandard def on an hdtv. it looks alot worse than it does on a normal tv. ur pc probably looks good because it is a digital signal.
although it might be a problem with your tv i seriously doubt it.
smack it on the side a couple of times, that always helps
Reggieman, 960i, you've got to be joking. Last i knew it was 480i/p,720i/p,1080i/p
As for the blurry PS2, as others have stated your looking at a 480i/p signal through a hi-def set. Easy way to clear it up is to use component cables,( your HDTV should have that connection) not the cheap AV rca cables that come with a ps2. They will run you about $60 bucks.
