My 42 inch plasma tv makes a loud popping noise when it is off and on.?

When you turn the tv off it makes a loud popping noise for about 1 hour after you turn it off. I have had it for about a year.

I have been working with Plasma TVs since they have been released and never heard of this problem. Usually noises like that are indicitive to a larger problem, I would take it to get serviced before you permantely damage it.
