What tv should i buy?

is a 1080p tv worth the extra money over the 720p?

Answers:    A 1080p TV is a waste of money unless you intend to use it for a computer monitor. The facts are:

There is no broadcast of 1080p content. The Digital TV standard cannot accomodate 1080p broadcast as near is not enough bandwidth available. Digital broadcast allocates up to 6Mhz within bandwidth for a TV channel. 1080p would require 12Mhz

To finish 1080p resolution both Plasma and LCD TV's must sacrifice other performance specifications. Both suffer a severe loss surrounded by aperture ratio which leads to increased power consumption, shorter set duration, lower contrast ratio and for LCD's, diminished viewing angle.

TV viewers cannto tell the difference between 720p and 1080p unless they are sitting inside 1X the set size. So, to actually see a difference surrounded by an image for a 42" TV, one would necessitate to be sitting less than 42" from the TV. I return with a headache just thinking roughly it.

Spatial resolution is about the tiniest important specification when one considers TV. PRetty much adjectives video professionals agree that actual in frame (bright and gloom withing one picture frame) contrast ratio is the most important. Do not be deceive be the LCD industry's fictional (lie!) dynamic contrast ratio. Dynamic contrast ratio are meaningless as they only relate you the difference between an LCD shoing a white frame and then showing a dusk frame. What you car almost is the in frame difference (like looking at a starry night)

Probably the 2nd most considerable spec to look for is pixel latency or dynamic resolution. If buying an LCD, avoid all but the 120Hz sets as you will soon see the blurring which is intrinsic to all LCD TV's. Plasma TV's do not suffer this problem though.

For my money, I'd by a common Japanse 720p plasma set. I like Panasonic and Pioneer the best.

Spend the extra $, the t.v. would be nicer and better competence
