the best type of t.v for gaming is an lcd tv. make sure it has a native 1080p resoulution and an hdmi input. the ps3 can output 1080p but not a lot of tvs support it. the best tv for it is probably a sony bravia xbr 2 or 3. they are some of the best tvs out there its perfect for the ps3. plasma is the best for movies but lcd is the best for gaming. if you want a huge tv then i would reccomend a plasma since lcds only go to 52'. this is the tv i recommend the most.

That question depends really on how big of a set you want. If you are interested in a large set, than a DLP set is the way to go. I would recomend a samsung because they have a special setting for gaming that maximizes the processor in the tv to get the most out of the game. If you are more interested in a flat panel tv, a plasma would be the way to go, though vastly more expensive at the resoultion required to take advantage of a ps3's graphics capability. Either way you want to make sure you purchase a tv that has a resolution of 1080p, because these tvs are the only ones capable of fully supporting the ps3 games from its blu ray drive.
