I recently got a new TV, but I can't seem to remember how to program new codes into my remote. I'm using an RCA DirecTV reciever and remote, about 3 years old. My new TV is an Emerson. I don't need the codes, just the process to program the remote.

I most of the time you hold the select, and mute button down at the same time until the light flashes, then enter the code.
go to the maker of the remotes website. you can get the manual there. with so many makers of remotes hard to say which way to program it
A lot of sat. remotes are programmed similarly. I'm not exactly sure for your's but for others
Hold tv button down until lights start blinking
Push power
Push arrow up until your tv shuts off
Push ok or enter
