What Is Hdmi??
Thanks
Answer:
Well nobody yet has totally answered your queston. HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface. It is the only digital video cable available that carries audio within the same cable. I hook up tv's everyday and I hardly ever see a difference between component and hdmi. The only time it is apparent when not using a HD DVD or Blu-Ray is when the tv is 1080p. If you just have a standard 1080i tv or lower, I wouldn't even bother with an hdmi. Besides, you will have to spend at least $120 - $200 depending on the length to get a good hdmi cable. I've seen people us $30 hdmi cables and their tv looks worse than if you were to just us cheap crappy component cables. To finish answering your question. an HDMI cable can be used in any application where the video source and tv both have HDMI capability. (up-convert dvd players, some satellite boxes, some digital cables boxes and of course HD DVD and Blu-Ray)
High definition input cable, you can buy them at circuit city for around $150. It hooks up High definition input devices, like dvd players, playstation 3's or xbox 360's and stuff.
HDMI is the HIGH definition cable you should use to get the best high definition picture to the new TV (assuming you subscribe to HD programming vie satellite or cable) keep in mind you do need to get a true high def pic you don't want use an analog cable like coax, composite(yellow), and s-video. you will need a set of component(red green blue(these carry the video) with a set of audio cables, or dvi, or the best choice HDMI it carries the high def signal as well as THX 5.1 Dolby surround sound. and while you're at it get a high def DVD player. Enjoy!
