Fuzzy picture on HDTV?

I have key cable, and recently purchased a untried sylvania 32" LCD TV. The tv is HD 720p. I was only wondering if it is normal for standard tv to look worse on an HDTV than an antiquated CRT style tv. My problem is that the picture is quite a bit fuzzier than my ripened TV (which was a piece of s**t Apex), and is pretty blocky as very well. So I was purely wondering if this is normal.

Answers:    Hdtv's are not respectable for looking like crap next to only a standard def signal. You enjoy to call your cable company and upgrade to hd programming.Or you can hook up an outside antenna and seize your hd signals over the air from your local tv stations.I know it sucks, but if you spent the money on an hd tv you might as capably pay extra for the programming or you lately wasted your money.
P.S. Once you see a football spectator sport or any sport in hd, you will be glad you spent the money.
depend on tv, some hdtv look worst surrounded by non hd content while some look ok with it. You should ask your provided if they offered hd trough line up, to return with full advantage of your tv, you will not budge back after u keep under surveillance hd content. Especially those HD content in prime tv show and live sport hobby like Monday Night Football.
