Of course the upper half of the screen looks all jacked up bcuz my camera, but when watching, those white lines are all you see OCCASIONALLY...
How can I get rid of them? I need to sell this TV and no one will buy it for $35 as-is! I need to get rid of it by Friday! Please help me!!
Also.. I'm 8 months pregnant, I can't lift this thing for the life of me... so, any ideas on what I can do myself? I can use a screwdriver pretty well LOL...
Answer:
most likely the tube; if no flying saucers around, you'd be better off getting a new one; fixing it will cost you more than $35.
try on and off, let it cool down a bit, move antenna to best position, if not donate to salvation army.
Or you can keep watching it that way, but you will get so much used it to it that you will later find it hard to watch a 'good' or 'normal' tv which has no 'strange' lines :-).
Congratulations on your boy. You may name him Elmo.
If the white lines come and go, then it sounds like you're receiving interference from some other piece of electronics. It could be magnetic from a speaker or vcr, or harmonic from something like an antenna.
If your TV warms and then after a while the white lines come in and stay until the TV is off an cooled down then it sounds like the tube for your TV is about to malfunction and then you would need a new TV.
I would suggest having someone else move the TV somewhere else in the house and see if you still get the white lines. Sorry about your dilemma and I hope this helps.
