Do VGA cable between computer and tv experience signal loss?

I am looking to connect my computer to my HDTV. Both have VGA ports. They are 30 foot away. Will the image ability deteriorate because of the distance? I have hear that long wired connections can produce some static.

Thanks!

Answers:    That distance would have a really negligible effect on picture standard due to attenuation (cable loss). No significant effect if the connections are good and firm. Static's usually ingress cause by unwanted electromagnetic radiation being picked up by the cable approaching an antenna. A lousy connector, or skinned insulation and your microwave or blowdryer'll demonstrate electrical ingress.
The greater the distance the greater the signal loss. This is not a distance to great that you will notice the loss however. At work our cable travel hundreds of feet near no significant loss. As for static being displayed. This is another problem not cable length. Normally it would close-fisted a short or bad connector.
