I know the brand doesnt matter for HDMI but my TV has no HDMI inputs. It only has 1 s-video and 1 component. What are the best brands for these cables? Or does the brand even matter? Should I just settle for the cheapest ones I can find?

For anything 50 feet long or less, the Calrad 55-770 series S-video cables, and the 55-871 or 55-872 series component/RGB cables are just fine and their cost is very reasonable. Dirt cheap when compared to the hyped up Monster brand.

I prefer Acoustic Research cables for high quality and reasonable price. I have also purchased some Belkin PureAV brand cables.
Like the previous person said, don't pay for overpriced Monster Cables.

sure thy're pretty much more expensive than the rest, but if you spend a lot of money on a nice TV might as well get a good cable
