Whats the difference between LCD and Plasma Tv?

Answer:
They use different technologies completely for displaying the picture. All TV pictures are made up of millions of little dots - pixels. Plasma TVs use tiny gas-filled cells that glow - one cell per pixel. LCD TVs use a grid of liquid crystal cells that open or close to let through light from a backlight.

Plasmas are heavier, run hotter, use more energy, and burn out quicker than LCDs. Plasmas have a slightly better viewing angle than LCDs. Because they can only make the gas cells so small, Plasmas are generally larger sets - 50" and above. If you get a smaller plasma, you are sacrificing resolution, since all of the cells just won't fit.

LCD technology has come a long way in the last couple of years and most of the disadvantages are gone. Because they can make the LCD cells very very small, LCD TVs come in any size, from 15" to 46". Above that, the technology becomes expensive. The viewing angle, while not as extremely high as plasma, is still very good and entirely suitable for nearly all viewing situations.

I recommend LCD. It offers a stunning picture at realistic sizes and price, and very very few disadvantages compared to plasma.
A plasma TV has a much better picture. If you get an LCD you will get a glareon the TV more often where a plasma you can look at it from any angle and you will have an amazing picture. It's worth the extra money believe me.
size, flat or quare.
LCD is liquid crystal display, like in a calculator but with colour. Plasma is gas cells trapped between glass. Basically LCD is better till you get to the really big screens. Plasma is hotter and uses more power.
Check the following link to compare. Should give you an overview
Get Plasma for:
Movies, TV

Get LCD for
Games, computer

The above are simple guide to what you should get.
If you spend the "MOST" time watching TV, then get the Plasma. If you spend the most time playing with the computer then get the LCD.

Here is why:
Plasma has a better picture, black and better viewing angles. But burn in which static images is displayed for prolong periods.

LCD has slower refresh rate, but great for static images so great for playing games and computers.

GL.
Plasma TVs are usually better for larger screen sizes (26 inches or more) and they give a better picture. There's a website here which answers specifically this point. I hope this helps!
