Best in the uk market is pioneer or the new panasonic 70 model, both are about the same price in the shops, the panasonic does have 2 hdmi wheread the oxd pioneer has only 1.

NONE - they still aren't up to much yet - still suffer from the gas leakage problems - give them another couple of years - they are playing catch up with LCD
FOR ADDED INFO - I have had two Plasma TV's in TWO years - one SANYO (I think it was) and one HITACHI - BOTH have leaked gas in under a year - REFUSED to have another and got LCD - TWO years on and NOT A SPOT OF TROUBLE -

the best one to get is to check www.sony.co.uk or www.sony.com because if you get from USA it will be cheaper even with the delivery prices. i think sony is the best in HD TV's

As a TV Servicer, we have never came across gas leakage. Its either someone cracked it, then the gas leaked out or some other electrical problem.
Plasma is just as good as any other.
The best quality plasma with supurb picture are the Toshiba Plasma, Hitachi Plasma and Pioneer Plasma.
The best quality LCD Panels are Sony,Toshiba,Mitsubishi,Hitach...
The best quality DLP is Toshiba,Mitsubishi.
The most recommended I've heard of are the Panasonic TH-42PX60U series.
