I would never consider either LCDs or Plasmas, as they both have major problems. Have a look at 1080p DLP TVs
a sony bravia, but they are a little more expensive.

A Toshiba Pro series would be that best bang for the buck. The black finish make the picture stand out and the picture is amazing without spending a small fortune compared to a Sony XBR. Way better than a Bravia!!
