When watching my 42 inch LCD HDTV I see sometimes that the background look granular.?
Answers: One of the problems with HDTVs is that when they are sold by retailers they set the video settings to level which they think will attract attention a bit than what a consumer would prefer in their home. That usually way that the contrast/brightness/color are set to max. That may be nice in a really bright store subsequent to a bunch of other models (although if you really look, often expensive models hold a picture quality that looks worse than their cheaper counterparts because of this).
If you indicated which TV model you own, I could recommend you hot settings, but without that information adjectives I can really tell you is this: beforehand you get utterly stressed out at the TV, be in motion online and check some HDTV forums for good settings for your TV. You would be shocked at how much of a difference varying those settings means contained by new TVs. Especially Plasmas and LCD (and to a slighter extent Rear Projections).
Feel free to do a followup with your model number and I'll see if I can give a hand you out...
You bought a cheaper model.
