I am trying to understand the changes that will take place in 2009 when all tv must be "digital". I have a digital cable box in the bedroom now. Will that need to be upgraded or changed in 2009? Will the picture be different if I don't? I already have 2 HDTV's in the house and don't want to spend that much on a small tv for the bedroom. So, if I have an EDTV hooked up to my present digital cable box, will that see me through these changes?

It's actually very simple, the digital problem ONLY effects you if you recieve signals over the air. If you have standard cable in 2009 standard cable will still work and that goes for standard tv as well, they will still work unless you get over the air signals and you would need a box to get the digital signal from the air.
