Is there a difference between plasma screen TV's and LCD's? If so what is it?

And is the picture better on one or do they offer the same picture quality?

Is the picture any better than normal big square old fashioned TV's?

A LCD monitor offers alot betta qualitiy than plasma. LCD screens are so much clearer, and are usually in high defintion, so everything has depth to it. Once you go LCD you will never look back. If you look at LCD screens tht you use as monitors for you computers thats the clearness and detail you will get.
Im not of the difference but I hear that a plasma will go out very quickly and it costs alot to fix it. I would go with LCD. Unless of course you have that kind of money to burn.
Plasma screens use Plasma.

LCD's use Liquid Crystal.

Plasma is better (more expensive), but even a halfway decent LCD blows away the old school CRT tv's.

You can still get a good CRT, but the price has come way down on LCD's - and they don't take up the space (plus you can use them as computer monitors too).
