I'm looking for a 19/20" screen for my kitchen but can't decide on a TV, say a Samsung 19" with 1440x900 pixels but its not HDready but the reviews say its got a great picture, I'm going to hook it up to freeview, can't I expect an excellent picture?? What will HD transmitted footage look like on this screen when it comes in?? Ahhhh, help

The (higher the number) x (the higher the number) the more resolution you'll get. 1440x900 will get you 720p (the lower resolution of HD. 680x480 won't get you HD at all. If you want the higher resolution of HD (1080i or 1080p), then you'll have to go with a higher number like 1920x1080, for example. While it will take a lot of reading to fully understand the myriad differences in formats, here is a decent introductory course in HD:
