Would an outdoor tv aeriel in the loft work properly or does it have to be outdoors?
Answer:
It would work as good as a loft aerial ! the difference is only weather proofing on the outdoor one ! Cheers Pete.
Outdoor antennas are used for better reception of signals. If you place them at good height the signal strenght is better.
The higher, the better. The antenna should be at least 10 feet above the roof, otherwise wiring and so forth compromises the signal gathering ability of the antenna. One manufacturer, Winegard antennas (www.winegard.com), says that putting an antenna in the attic reduces its capacity by as much as 50%.
