Which is the best type of tv that I can get if I want to use it to play video games. LCD, Plasma or Projection
Answer: LCD or Plasma will be sharper but projection will be bigger. It all boils down to what you are looking for in your gaming.
LCD is the best type for gaming,due to the fact that with both others you will most definately have burn in issues.
depends on your game console if it is ps2 or xbox360 you should get a high def tv but not projection...projection tvs are out now ..and xbox360 supports up to 720p but ps2 or xbox1 don't have high def capability..
in addition, lcd and plasma they give almost same pic quality...
I like the REAR projection. It is a very fine picture quality and I don't care what many folks say, for the little difference in picture and less problems, from the plasmas, I would go with the rear projection. Check into consumer reports. You get more screeen for a fraction of the price of a plasma or lcd. But if I had to choose between lcd and plasma, definetely LCD, but I love our REAR projection, 62 in Toshiba. Mitshubiti has a fine 57 inch, Crystal clear picture without High Def , just like our Toshiba. ( Samsung is fine too!!!! You will want a TV that has a clear standard picture as well as High def, I wouldn't want a TV that has a lousy picture on channels that don't offer High def, and you have to pay for those that do have it through your cable, Direct TV, sarellite, etc. Good Luck. I will say that best buy has an offer that allows you to watch and check out your TV for 30 days from purchase and decide if you want to keep it or not. The delivery guys told me that allot of plasmas and LCDs, they often pick right back up and take back.
P.S. Our Toshiba is rated the best for a REAR Projection TV the only one that is rated excellent for standard pic, sound, and high def. it is the model HM62196. It weighs only 100. lbs. It is normally 2800.00 we got it for 1900.00 at best buy on sale. 'Love It!!!! One more thing, not one plasma was rated excellent, but the pic is normally nice, I mean real nice, but that changes and you may have trouble with those plasmas too, 10 percent of them made have a gas leakage, was told to me by a sales/repair person. So ho needs or wants that?? They will perfect them eventually. In the mean time, the REAR projection TVs are moving in strong. get one while they are afforadable!!!! Good Luck!!!!!!!! ( don't get the Rear projection mixed up with Front projection, ( you don't want one of those Front projections).....I will say one more thing, plasmas will burn easily on the games so check into it and don't listen to a sales person who is trying to push the expensive models for brownie points or commission. PLASMA...there was a "whitesheet" out about the newer ones having anti-burn capability from the Zenith/LG camp......
Seems you get image retention (burn).....then if you watch regular TV 24 hours straight with NO GAMING.......it' causes it to disappear....
I'll believe that when I see it.....ON the Zenith/LG sets only.
if you play lots of video games don't get a plasma,the screens wearout and fade overtime and if ypu leave an image on the screen for an extended amount of time the image will burn into the screen.Iwould go for the LCD i have one and it works great!
