Lcd or plasma...dlp?...hol... crap what is that?

my head is going to explode..tell me which 42" is the best deal and im done.

Answer:
LOOKING FOR THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK??

Highest resolution picture?
Most RELIABLE?
CHEAPEST to repair in the future?

Well, Plasma Ranks the Lowest,
DLP and LCD rank just a bit higher...
And the BEST, most RELIABLE, HIGHEST RESOLUTION WINNER IS.

THE Hitachi 1080i CRT Projection TV set..

MODEL 51F59 -- 57F59 -- 65F59

The 51F59 will fit your "42 inch" needs perfectly.AND I own this Particular Model, found at Circuit City and Best Buy for $800.

You have Cable? How about Satellite? Both NEED a HD Set top box to get the HD signals from them..THEY provide that box, you can't run to the store and get one.
UNLESS you only have the local TV stations from an antenna.

IF you do have only local stations, the TV has a Digital Tuner so you can get Digital TV as soon as you turn your TV on...

Then you can go to E-BAY and get a VOOM box for $75 instead of paying $200 for a HD Terrestrial Tuner. That's what I did. Now with Satellite SD and my HD Voom box, I select a LOCAL station, set up my PIP to get my Satellite, and my VOOM and..
I can show the difference between SD and HD signals!

I like Hitachi's PIP feature for that..and you can see the difference between Low Def and Hi Def signals.

I like watching Law and Order : Criminal Intent. So I bring up SD satellite and HD Voom and "EAMES" has a 5 o'clock shadow on SD and 3 DAY STUBBLE on HD!! (damn Eames! Don't you EVER SHAVE??!)

Believe me, I don't even want to consider LCD or DLP and CERTAINLY NOT PLASMA!

All of these units require too much money to repair them! And after fixing TV sets all day long, I don't want to come home to MY TV and have to fix it.
But I didn't sacrifice HD 1080 either...I got the Highest Resolution, with the most RELIABLE Technology out there.
plasma's screen goes out in a few years.
plasma, because it's probably the thinnest, and it can be seen without distortion or color loss from almost any angle. you can also hang it on the wall easily
I think that LCD is less expensive than plasma. But Ibelieve that LCD is better for viewing in the dark and plasma is better for viewing during the day. Either way, I've seen them side by side and to me, I'd go with LCD because of the price. (But I'm no expert.)
I have a 52" DLP and I love it. Plus the DLP is the least expensive of the three ( Plasma, LCD, DLP)
Ok I have actually done some research on this and this is how it goes. LCD's and Plasma's are good for 42 inches and below. Plasma tvs do not actually last as long but if you are looking for a short term tv then plasma is better to go. LCD's are a little cheaper and last longer than plasma tvs. Now as for DLP, they are fantastic for 42 inches and up. The only drawback is that the DLP's are bulkier than LCD and Plasma tvs. I have a 56 inch DLP JVC and I could not ask for anything more. It is perfect. I am in the process of getting a 32 inch LCD for the front room. This info that I am giving you is from Consumer Reports and About.com. It is your choice. So choose wisely.
