After the nation's transition to digital broadcast tv, what benefits will I exactly return with?

I already am a subscriber to regular cable. But will I get more when the nation change to digital cable. Do I get more channel?

Answers:    People with cable or Dish/Direct will see NO CHANGE when the switch to digital take place on February 17 2009.

People who use an antenna will need to brand name a change unless their tv already have a built-in digital ATSC tuner.
It's the first move towards to getting all TV companies to broadcast contained by HD. This digital move will not benefit the consumer. It will only make the addition of complexity to people's home theaters. If you have an older TV, you gotta buy a digital converter.

You will not get more channel. In fact, you may acquire less channel. Cable companies have be slowly moving channels from analog to digital packages.
