My projection TV has the green, yellow colors out of alignment ,gets dark.Is it fixable without much cost?
Answer:
It is easy to repair but depending on the brand you have also depends on how much it will cost. For example I used to repair these t.v.'s and I could fix an RCA much faster than lets say a Sony. If your t.v. is new it will have an automatic adjustment called magic adjustment or even smart adjustment in your menu under screen options. If it doesn't have this option get ready do dish out a couple hundred $$$ or even more. Labor is what is going to cost you as there is no component to replace. It is ONLY an adjustment. If you have an RCA good for you. If you have something other than that then you have to thank the foreign engineers for that. Only U.S. electronics engineers simplify things at repair level. Just read your manual first. Or if you have time go on the Internet and search for repair menu codes for your specific model. When/if you find the codes look for CRT adjustments. You have three CRT's Red, Blue and Green so you will have to adjust all of them if all are out of wack and if you are not technologically literate I say dish out the $$$.
Yes ,it is repairable and should cost between $125 and $300
