Audio cable is loose on Sharp LCD digital audio output?
Answer:
THOSE MONSTER CABLES are too heavy! I have seen the Monster cables wreak havoc on the Optical inputs, the HDMI inputs, and some of the S-Video inputs too !! Run down to Walmart and pick up a digital audio cable..They'll "snap" in nicely, and since they are lighter, it won't ruin the optical connector over time.
BESIDES, a digital signal does not need a super high quality cable.ANY digital signal MAINTAINS signal quality because it's nothing more than Highs and Lows transmitting information. And either it's High or Low.no in-between.
ANALOG (non-digital) signals can benefit from MONSTER cables.if the cable is LONG, like 30 feet or more...
But who places their DVD 30 feet away from the TV? Home Theaters !
Sometimes a certain design end connector dont fit nice in snug.
But make sure you take off the little caps off the end.
You should hear a snap when its firmly inplace. If not, buy another optical cable, a Panasonic one, it has a better connector.
Run all your source audio(dvd, cable box, etc) cables into your AVR first.. Also your video too..Then use Monitor outputs to send to tv..You should use your AVR as the switcher and leave your tv on one input..If you have component (RGB) ins and outs on your AVR,even better..Get a universal remote for macro commands..Harmony 880..Philips pronto..etc..Sound like alot?..Get an AV tech to your house!
There should be small colored heads of small fine threaded screw type knobs that you can screw in on each end of the monster cable connector. They have them on my monster DVI to HDMI cable, well, only on the end that has the HDMI connector. The cable is rather heavy, so they put those things on there to hold it up. Hold the cable in place with one hand & screw those little bolts in , one on each end of connector. I hope I'm right, because I hate to waste your time.
