How do I set the channel on our VCR/DVD recorder combo if we have a satellite dish?

Do I set the channel on our VCR/DVD recoder combo to the channel I want to record? Or do I set it to the channel our tv needs to be on to watch our satellite dish?

Thanks.

Answer:
Connect the video out from the set-top box to Line In input to the VCR. Set your VCR to record from Line in (NOT the Tuner)

Or if you connect the set-top box to the VCR via coax, set your VCR to Ch 3 or Ch 4 (regardless of what channel you watch on the set-top). Then record from that channel.
