HD Ready or HDTV for the PS3?

Can anyone tell me? If they're both 1080p, will there be a difference in graphics and all. And which one would be better from the followings - Plasma, LCD, or Projection?

Answer:
Both HD ready and HDTV sets are capable of displaying Ps3's 1080p. That does not necessarily mean that they will. You have to make sure they can display at 1080p. Most televisions that do will proudly display it somewhere.(They will also cost a little more then the ones that don't) Either one will do. As far as the LCD, plasma, or projection, each has its pros and cons. Plasma has the best contrast ratio. (that means that it has the blackest black color and the whitest white.) It will probably cost a little more and the lifespan of the TV is shorter. LCDs Have a very nice picture and it is bright. It will not change much when viewed at an angle and the picture will not be that different when viewed in light.(the same can be said of Plasmas) The contrast ratio isn't that bad, but not nearly close to plasmas so the picture won't pop out at you like on plasmas. Projection TVs are the cheapest and offer 1080p. They will be the biggest at the same price range. The bad thing about projections is that I tend to think that you still have to have a dark room to see them well. Also, if you look at them from an angle the picture quality changes. If you are going to be in front then it does not matter though and the price can't be beat. I would choose an LCD even though it would be more costly.
I am using my PS3 via an HDMI cable on my 720p and the picture rocks.
No, my tv is not "high definition" by the dictionary term, but the picture is so sharp and clear.
Ya, maybe you will see a little difference, but its not like your comparing dvd's to VHS.
Actually for gaming i would choose a plasma because lcd tvs have a slower response time therefore creating "ghosting" and gaming lag. TO answer your question, for ps3 at least, 1080p would be better in any shape or form. Projection (as in projector, not DLP or crystal tech, even those are also good options) for gaming would be crazy, as in good crazy, although i've never seen it in the works. I'd go with a 1080p plasma, which are kinda more expensive than lcds, so its really up to you.

"HD Ready" and "HDTV" have nothing to do with hooking up a component.
Both terms refer to whether the TV has a built in tuner or not. Tuners are only used for receiving TV programming. An "HD Ready" set is really a monitor and you would need a cable or satellite box (or other set top box tuner) to receive high definition programming. "HDTV" usually means that there is an ATSC (high definition/digital TV) tuner built in so you can hook it up to a UHF antenna and go.
As for 1080p. If it's 1080p, it's new and it's probably better quality, so you can choose any. I think the picture quality is richest on a plasma and if you get an LCD wait a bit for the 120 Hz refresh rates or you'll get feathering in fast action. DLP's will be a good budget choice.
I believe there are issues about the PS3 and it's 1080p output. You might want to check into it on a playstation forum.
The best out of those three for gaming is LCD. Whatever you do, do not buy plasma for gaming, because there can be burn-ins and it could be fatal to the tv, and a money waster for you. Also the average life of a plasma is much less, and it uses 3-4 times the electricity, so be prepared for your electric bill to go up if you're buying a plasma. A projection tv is pretty good also, but it is good if you're on a budget and want the most screen size out of your money.
