How do I acquire a DVD/HDD recorder to receive digital channel through my TV near built-in Freeview?

Hi. I have a LG tv near built in freeview. It have AV1 and AV2 scart sockets and 'DTV OUT' scart socket, and an aerial socket. I hold just bought a hdd/dvd recorder which have an 'EXT1 TO TV' scart socket, a 'EXT2 TO VCR/SAT' scart socket and an 'Antenna In' socket. However, the hdd/dvd recorder will only pick up analogue (1-5) channel and the setup instructions seem to relate with the sole purpose to a separate digital box. Can anyone tell me how I should connect the tv beside the recorder so that it receives freeview digital channel?

Take a scart from the DTV out on the TV and plug it into whichever scart socket on the DVD recorder will adopt an AV input, which sounds like EXT2 within your case. Set the input on the DVD recorder to 'AV' or 'SAT' or anything the instructions say, and you should draw from the TV set's picture through the recorder.
To record a digital signal from the TV, you'll involve to have the TV on the desired trench, so no watching one programme while you record another, and if you want to set the timer, you'll obligation to set the recorder's timer as normal, but remember to set the input source as AV, not a TV station, and also check out the TV's instructions for how to set the TV's own timer, if indeed it have one at all.
