Screen goes green when I select YPbPr1 or YPbpr2 to view a high def program.?

I was watching a high def program on my Westinghouse LTV-32w6 HD LCD TV and when I switched to another channel, the screen went totally green. Comcast tells me the HD component of my TV is bad. The TV is 3 months old. Can that be?? Any comments on this would be very helpful.

Answer:
Comcast is right, it's not their problem...it sounds like your TV
make sure your color codes are matching on your dig box and tv.

go to comcast satellite office or payment center and request a box swap and new set of comp wires. take old stuff with you for the swap.

also disconnect box and run straight cable to coaxial connection to see if tv is still green

if green without box = bad tv

green goes away = bad comcast
We've been seeing Green picture when someone switches from Vid to HDMI..if you unplug the HDMI and plug it in, the picture is restored.

Thats because HDMI talks to the device connected, and sometimes they don't talk to each other properly. Unplugging it will "start the conversation at the beginning"..

NOW if it IS your COMPONENT plugs you're having problems with, I have seen some of these connectors "walk out" of their connections and need to be pushed in again..that can cause a green picture sometimes.

But here's a suggestion.WHEN it goes green on you, TRY all your other inputs you're using by switching to them.if they ALL have green picture bring up the MENU and see if it's off color, then try turning off your TV and back on again to see if the Video and Menu return to normal.if it does, the Microprocessor may be losing it's programming and needs a software update. That would be the time to call for service.

IF only one specific INPUT (like HDMI) is green and all the others are ok, the TV is likely OK.and you would want to try to TURN OFF the specific device to see if it restores the picture. IF SO, then the device may have software issues...

As for HDMI Green..IT's not the TV or the device causing that, it's the Handshaking protocol between the two devices and is caused by HDMI and that dreaded HDCP copyright protection scheme! Been seeing that recently on many different brands of TV !
