What do I need in order to watch broadcast digital TV?
Answer:
Well ACTUALLY, there IS a way to get you HD stations on a SD TV..
First choice and the easiest for you to set up is go to WALMART, LOOK for a DIGITAL SD TV..Digital Tuner, Standard Definition TV.goes for about $200 in the 25 to 27 inch range. It will last for 5-10 years if you get a known brand that's been around for 20 years or longer.
Now, you want to keep your OLD TV?
Go to E-Bay, in the search engine TYPE Voom DSR5..
You'll see Voom satellite boxes going for about $50, and those have composite video outputs you can hook up to your TV, also it comes with a DIGITAL TUNER that will lock in channels 2.1 and 15.3 and 33.4 etc...BUT.you may have to remove the security screws and press down on all the ribbon connectors to make sure the digital tuner is getting power...Mine came "slightly disconnected" and I had to do that, as did several others...
But it's the cheapest way to get Digital TV...
digital recorder on non cable tv. a waste. unles your picture is perfct.
dig cconv would be just as exp as cable.
quit bein a cheap skate and step int this century
If by broadcast digital TV you mean, using an antenna to watch local HD stations then the only way I know of doing that is by obtaining an ATSC digital tuner and hooking it up to your set.

Digital broadcast need digital tuner to receive the signal.
There are some system depend on which country are you. like ATSC, ISDB, DSB.
So if your TV don't have digital tuner build in you need to have external digital tuner to receive digital broadcast.
You need a converter box, you can find them on ebay..
and an antenna..
Free TV and Radio is for me too...
We have enough bills.
