Can I attain reception using the VCR?

I no longer have cable and I cannot capture reception at all. It say "no signal" on the tv. Would I get purely the basic channel if I hook the tv to my vcr?

Answers:    VCRs do not have internal antennas. You enjoy to attach a TV antenna to the antenna/cable input connector.

Usually people connect their TV antenna to the VCR and after use a short length of coax cable to connect the RF out on the VCR to the Antenna/cable in connector on their TV. That method you can record one program while watching another.
check the frequency of reception on your vcr brochure. If it's the same consequently you might receive it. On the quality of reception I would doubt it..
