for me to connect a headset(headphones) to a samsung TV and still get sound from the TV. ( i mean from both the headset and the TV speakers itself.)

You used to be able to do that by not plugging the headphones all the way into the jack. If the plug is not all the way in, a lot of times the headphones will work and so will the sound from the TV. This used to work all the time with stereos. It has been a long time since I tried this though, but that is what I remember.
