How can I procure a better signal in need HD?

Okay, here's my problem:

I just purchased a Samsung 37" LCD TV. I live surrounded by an apartment complex that uses a media company to supply video. The medium company pipes in DirecTV to adjectives of the units via coax cable. The signal is slightly compressed and we have no box or heir in our apartments to convert the signal, nor do they grant one. I called the medium company and they told me that they don't have the receiver for our complex. I called DirecTV and they wouldn't deal in me a receiver to use. Everyone I name refers me to someone else and I'm going in circles. Opening my own DirecTV won't work b/c my complex won't allow it. I've be to Best Buy and Circuit City and no one seem to know the answer. My pictures are quite coarse and I'm frustrated. There must be a electronic box of some sort that will take the compressed signal and convert it to the full signal. Can I buy a DirecTV box? Will it enjoy to be activated? Please assistance!

Answers:    use an HDMI cable
I would get a foreign service provider like comcast or verizon and use that because you wont ever get hold of a good signal next to that getting put in your apartment or you could only buy DirectTV service and use that
