HD TV, Whats the best? Plasma, LCD? I want the best efficacy for my money....?

-The picture is clearer on Plasma. As far as being brighter, it's because it have a backlight that is other on at full power. Most people scene their output with the brightness too soaring, anyway. If you're television have a 'Cinema' or 'Theater Reference' picture mode, this is the mode closest to the original intention of the creator for viewing.

LCDs are lighter because they are smaller. However, a few companies are attempting to create a smaller plasma to compete w/ the cost of LCD. Soon we may be seeing a 32" plasma.

-Also a common misconception. Actually, LCDs are smaller quantity energy reorganized. As I said before, the LCD have a backlight that - even when the picture is of complete blackness - is still on. In a plasma, if there is black surrounded by a picture, the light human being transmitted through that pixel is cut off completely. Therefore, that alone save on power significantly. The power consumption based on size and type of viewing is roughly one and the same.

Also, wait until a TV is made near new HDMI specifications of adjectives color (10, 12, and 16-bit color). If you think it's breathtaking presently - think of the advancement coming soon with the HDMI immediately that 1.3 spec has doubled available bandwidth surrounded by the cable.

Neither one is better for everyone. Plasmas are better for people looking for a big flast blind. 42in is not considered big. Plasmas have a better picture as far as colors dance. They do have a reflective peak which may not be a good leeway in a markedly window lighting room. They are also subject to burn in if you own a still image on the tv for too long.
best plasmas contained by my opinion are Pioneer.
LCD are probably the better remedy for smaller TV's around the 42in mark or smaller. They don't own the picture quality of plasmas. They do however own a non reflective screen so you don't enjoy to worry something like glare. Screen burn within is almost impossible.

Personally I like Lcd tvs better. With Lcd you dont achieve any burn-in like plasma's do. Also beside Lcd the picture is brighter and clearer! Plus Lcd tvs are lighter and use less power. I basically bought a Samsung LNT3242. What an AWSOME picture!!
