i have an lg 37lp1d lcd tv and when i change channels on digital tv (freeview) sometimes the screen goes a pink colour or green colour for a couple of seconds then finds the channel i want but then the remote becomes disabled so i have to switch off the tv to get things working again whats up with it please

Are you using the HDMI input when this happens??
If so, the HDCP anti-piracy signal has been wreaking havoc with the HDMI signals,
You may be forced to use the COMPONENT connections because they are STABLE.
HDCP Sucks!!
