What's the best way to move a 36" Sony Wega TV?

Not sure what model, but I know it's between 230-270 pounds and it awkward as hell. Because of that and the width of the stairs I'll be moving it down, the number of guys helping to carry it is limited. Any tips or tricks short of magic are appreciated.

Answer:
I had the same problem. We had a stairway large enough that the TV would go down with a little room on the side(meaning no turns) and used a pallet, cut down to size ( no wood only plastic) to fix the TV to and a couple of long 2x4s with a block and tackle Fixed to a 4x4 braced against two doorways,to slide the TV down.It only took us 3 people to lift the TV onto the pallet and I lowered the TV myself with the block and tackle. We were watching National Geographic channel just before and got the idea from a pyramid special going on. Who said history has nothing to teach us!
Ouch that is a heavy TV. I had the same one: the SONY Wega XBR. The problem is that there are no places to hold it and it is bulky. Only suggestion I have is to wear cushioned gloves so it does not 'bite' into your hands! And down is easier than up.
If that Is that big of a problem I would leave it there and buy a newer model hell I have a 42in and it wieghs 76lbs hell I can left it with my tounge
