LCD TV Screen Damage?

I own a 32" LCD TV that has started to, very well, bleed for want of a better word.

It started a couple of days ago. My wife and I noticed a blacky-purpley-green blotch at the top of the screen that seem to be running down the inside of the screen really, really slowly, following without a flaw straight lines.

It's also growing across the top of the screen and is immediately more purple than black. TV images can be see through the mark, so the artificial area isn't completely devoid of power.

The TV have received no damage, hasn't be moved or knocked and have had nil spilled or dropped on it.

I'm presuming it's knackered, and I'm already looking around for a replacement, but I'd just resembling to know what caused the problem.

Anyone get any ideas?

Answers:    We've get this problem with our Samsung LCD TV. The engineers own now be out twice, first time they mended, I think, the mother board, the second time, when the issue didn't clear, they replaced the whole blind. Well, the TV is still playing up so we've reported it again and they are going to take the TV away for further investigation. If yours is underneath waranty get it checked out. If it's not, later you may be right in looking for a replacement. Sorry, doesn't really answer your query, but I wanted to agree to you know you are not alone!
