but you don't have to buy a HDTV. you can buy a fresh digital signal adapter this spring from best buy, or a digital tivo, or use a digital cable box from your cable company.
basically your out-of-date tv just have to have 1-a digital source (digital cable box/receiver) and 2-a digital input jack on the tv. if you don't own a digital jack (hdmi, component, etc) then your aged tv will need that digital adapter on the stern.

And it is not High Definition Television. They are a short time ago doing away with the analog signals. If you do not hold a digital compatible TV you will be able to buy a converter at any electronics store. This will not effect you if you are currently using cable or satellite beneficiary.
