Hdmi cord at 720p vs hd component cable at 720p. details below?
Answers: On a 19" blind the chances of you seeing a difference between component video at 720p and HDMI at 720p is almost 0. If you have a larger TV you might see a difference. Technically, the HDMI will carry a spotless signal from the PS3 to the TV. There would probably be a small amount of picture degridation from using component cables since they transport an analog signal instead of a digital one. The PS3 creates a digital signal, has to revision it to an analog signal to send it along the component cable, and then your TV take that analog signal and turns it back into a digital picture. The picture loss would merely probably be noticeable on a much larger TV, than what you hold. The only supremacy you would gain in the HDMI over component is using 1 cable instead of 5 for the video and audio that component requires.
I enjoy tested this with my HD digital cable box, and at 720p you cannot see a difference between the two. even at 1080i it isn't awfully noticable, but a difference none the less. You will be fine beside the component cables. Don't forget these cable do not carry audio sources, so you will want audio cables as in good health.
