Once again, Sayno vs Insignia warning.?

This week, I purchased a Sanyo 42" LCD HDTV with Digital Tuner (DP42647) from Wallyworld for $948. It is a 720p, 1500:1 contrast ratio, and 500 cd/m2 brightness. I realize it is nowhere close to the top of the line, but it will do for in a minute.

While in Bestbuy today, I see a brand of TV call Insignia. They had 2 sets I am interested surrounded by, almost to the point of returning mine. They are both 42": (1) Insignia(R) - 42" 720p Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV Model: NS-PDP42. I realize this is a plasma tv as opposed to my lcd. It is a 720p, 15000:1 contrast ratio, & a brightnes of 1,500:1 cd/m2. Price.........$809!

The other set is Insignia(R) - 42" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Model: NS-LCD42HD. It is a 1080p, 1200:1 contrast ratio, and a brightness of 500cd/m2. Price.................$998.

My question?

1. Is Insignia a piece of sh*t?
2. What is more important, glorious # of verticle scanning lines, or hight contrast ratio? What is a accurate mean btwn the 2?
3. Given the 3 choices timetabled, what would you

Answers:    Insignia is NOT made by any other company, they are the manufacturer. This is the worst company that I enjoy EVER encountered. I have a portable DVD player that was a piece of second-hand goods, A TV that burned out within a year, and a MP3 player that they erstwhile to honor the warranty on. I went as far as to enjoy a attorney research the company because their customer support was so unpromising, I had planned on suing them until Best Buy arranged to give me a grant certificate within the amount of the purchase price. Don't buy Insignia products!
Go with the Insignia since it is a brand owned by Best Buy but built for them by a heading brand which in this covering is either LG or Samsung. As for contrast or scan lines, both are prominent. If the room is very bright, you have need of a higher contrast ratio, if it is dark, you can make due beside less. As for scan lines, if you want to see Blu-ray or HD DVD at their full potential, you need 1080p and that is to say what TV will be in the adjectives. For right now, both of those formats can be brought down to a rank that will show on a 720p/1080i TV and television shows are mostly film in 720p near the exception of 13HD and Discovery HD.

Also, when deciding on LCD or Plasma, you obligation to consider the following:
Plasma can still burn in although not nearly as effortlessly, but LCD cannot.
Plasma can give you a look angrily with lights within the room or sunlight coming in, but LCD is a smaller quantity reflective screen.
INSIGNIA
i bought a 26 inch and it is great you newly have to play around near the picture settings a bit and have an hd cable, satellite, or hd antenna

insignia is made by lg but you put aside alot of money by buying the insignia name instead of lg
Insignia its pretty righteous. trust me i had it for 2 years a 37 inch lcd hdtv. mann nice.
