How do you clean the lens on a projection screen TV?

My pics a bit blurry later and the lens needs cleaned, I read that it can be done but want to know how and if I can do it myself. I have a 61' sony.

Answer:
You can do it yourself as long as you're careful not to disturb the electronics. Fortunately the Sony lenses are easy to get to from the back. I would never recommend going in from the front, because the screens are extremely fragile. Unplug the TV. Remove the black back screws from the cardboard back. Carefully pull the cardboard back away. There will be enough space below the mirror shroud to reach in underneath and clean the lenses. Use a good quality lens cleaner (glass cleaner is okay if that's all you have) and a lint free lens cleaning cloth. Spray a little cleaner on the cloth and wipe in circular motion until each of the three lenses is clean. Carefully replace the back, and you're done.
Check your manual, it might have some options, I use Monster Screen clean. It comes with a microfibre cloth and a dripless cleaner. Great stuff, works on almost everything. Your TV sounds like an older style CRT rear projection, take the back off, unplugged of couse, vacumn out the inside and clean the lenses gently. Put everything back and do a convergence. Should be nice and bright. Peace out!
