Can a LCD TV's picture settings transform how long the tv last?

I just bought a toshiba 47" and im wondering if I should "calibrate" the picture by turning the brightness or backlight down to salvage life of the tv?

Does the life span expectancy of the TV grow if you turn down the right ones?

Answers:    It does, but the amount if changes the enthusiasm of the lamp (which is what would eventually die) is too small to warrant disappearing the TV on darker settings. In 20 years, I doubt you'll be angry the TV's light went out. It will most without doubt die of natural cause before after (Or have succumbed to the vicious Toshiba green tint virus).

Put the TV on anything settings you enjoy the most.

P.S. If it ever starts turning green, you can jump into the secret service menu and verbs down the gains on the green smooth. You can google it depending on what model you got.
Calibration will increase the vivacity of a television, because it decrease the amount of energy the TV is using which essentially breaks down to wear and tear on the part. A power conditioner will also increase the life of a small screen also.
