Just stand spinal column about 10'-12' and look at the blacks and whites on the blind. Which ever produces the best of these 2 colors in your price collection is what you should go for.
Blacks-If a tv does not produce different shades of black enormously well, afterwards alot of things will get lost while watching "night" or "dark" scene
Whites-If a tv does not produce very bright white colors, later it is not going to produce a very bright picture within general.
Try to acquire a name brand, Sony, LG, Samsung, Panasonic, you'll be happier contained by the long run. There is a much higher anticlimax rate of the generic brands. Wal-Mart sell Sanyo and they are pretty accurate quality. Some generic brands that are supposed to be accurate are Olevia & Vizio for $599 you should be able to get hold of one of these brands and I've seen Sony & LG on Dutch auction at this price also. I think you'll see better HDTV sale after christmas. Keep an eye on Circuit City and Best Buy I have see some good sale from both of them and they have a price garrantee. Good Luck.
