Why does my HDTV enjoy poor picture characteristic?

I just bought an Acoustic Solutions HDTV and the picture level is pretty poor on most TV stations. The same with DVDs. The picture looks fuzzy, it's still watchable. But it doesn't enjoy the sharpness I was expecting.

It's fine for Xbox 360 games. But elder games on Gamecube and PS2 look terrible, the colours are awful.

I'm using middle-of-the-road cable. Would upgrading to digital TV improve picture aspect? What about DVDs? Should I capture a HDDVD player?

What should I do to improve power? I've tried adjusting adjectives the settings.

I'm considering returning it.

Answers:    You are watching analog not digital. That is the problem not the TV. High Definition TV's are for viewing High Definition digital cable and not analog. They make analog (basic cable) look even worse than a principal analog TV... You need to upgrade to digital to achieve the benefit of having a lofty definition TV.

Xbox360 is between 720 and 1080 which is why it would look better... Theres not much you can do for the Ps2 and Gamecube to fix that... merely go near a Wii or Ps3 upgrade...

DVDs are OK; but to see the full potential of your HDTV you'd want to upgrade to an HD Disc player or a Blue Ray Disc player...
well own you tried cable? Remember HDTVs will give you a HD logo only if you enjoy a HD signal! They dont magicly make everything look 1080p.
