Gaming and watching movies surrounded by High Defenition on the PS3?

I have 40 inch 1080p LCD HDTV and the PS3 which is a Blu-ray playet as okay....

Do I need the HDMI cable or am I already watching it on the highest power already?

Answers:    HDMI cables provide MORE DETAIL than any other cable...

The sound out is, do you play Blu-Ray DVDs a lot?

Because the GAMES for PS3 are MOSTLY 720....and not 1080, and that system it's LOW HD, not Hi HD.....
HDMI would be the best thing for both audio and video, if you lone want great video and so-so sound, next you can get the component cable.
