Plasma or LCD and why?
Answer:
Indeed, LCD's are getting better, but in certain aspects plasma still edges them out. Examples are better black-levels, more screen inches for your dollar, and basically better for home theater. LCD, however, is good for bright rooms and has no chance of burn-in, (as plasmas do). I believe that previous posters were a bit confused; LCD is the one that is plagued with blurry motion. Plasmas tend to be better at displaying fast-moving material due to the fact that LCD's have slower response time (ms), but this is slowly improving. Also, the life difference between plasma and LCD has dwindled to nothing, and I recently saw that two different LCD and plasma tv's had the very same "life expectancy". On a side note, LCD, unlike its plasma counterparts, have almost all made the jump to 1080p, and some even have that resolution for relatively cheap, (a bargain brand such as Vizio or Westinghouse). So, overall, it comes down to personal preference. Both have good points and bad, but you will have to decide how these points outweigh each other.
YOU SHOULD BUY AN LCD SCREEN. PLASMA SCREENS DO NOT LAST LONG CUS THE GAS IN IT NO LONGER OUTPUTS THE LIGHT. IF YOU GO WITH AN LCD WITH KIDS AROUND HAVE IT WALL MOUNTED SO THEY CANT TOUCH OR KNOCK IT OVER.
Depends on your use for it and future uses for it. Plasma is somewhat more durable in terms of daily wear and tear, but if you or your spouse are interested in video games, fast paced movies, etc. LCD is the way to go. Plasma tends to have less sharp images when it comes to fast changing picture. They run for about the same amount and the differences aren't all that great, it all just depends on durability (plasma assuming you keep it out of the sun) or picture clarity (LCD assuming you will be playing video games and such)
LCD's are now better than Plasma screens. It used to be the other way around.
