HDTV oblige please?

So what is better? to run 1080P through Componant cables or run 1080I through HDMI cable?

Answers:    Depends on how you demarcate better. HDMI is all digital and carry the sound and other notes in adding together to the all digital video... surrounded by any HD format on a single cable. Component is strictly analog and carries video solely. Last time I checked, component would only transport 1080i within analog only. It's bandwidth constrained and apparently has difficulty transporting 1080p for any appreciable distance.

As far as the first answer go... p (progressive) is always better than i (interlace) provided the scan rate is big enough to stamp out the dreaded jitter.
1080i through HDMI

i is better than p
HDMI is better than component
No compromises
1080p is the best you can get on the flea market now but it doesn't thing if you get it through component or HDMI cable. Get 1080p with component cable.
