Can you put a splitter between a satellite dish and the box. This is to reuse existing wiring.?

I have coaxial cable running all over the house with a couple of splitters. Can I run satellite signal from the dish TO the box using this prewired wiring. Can save a lot of money by not having to rewire the house.

Answer:
Most of the time running a splitter between the satellite and box will mess up the picture. Youre best bet is to call customer service and see what they say
You need to use a multi-switch for satellite runs if you want to take the antenna feed to different satellite receivers. Some satellite receivers have an RF output. This output can use the same type of splitters that you have with your current coax to supply additional TVs.
Most satellite installs use the existing coax from the cable tv in your home. Just remember that in order to watch the signal that you have to use a receiver.
i just had direct tv put in and they used all the old cables i had 4 tv's st up with cable and they used those connected already they ony ran one cable to my connections from the satelite, then they just ran their jump wires to their boxes no other connection from the basement to the tv's was needed use your existing their the same and it is cheaper.
