My tube tv will not turn on for almost 30 mins after turning past its sell-by date. better to depart it on or risk turning it bad?

Obvioulsy, my tube t.v. is dying, but I'd like to hold that bad as long as possible. It hesitates turning on for around 30 minutes after turning it off. For the time man, should I leave it on constantly or risk turning it sour. My fear is the t.v. not turning on at adjectives if I turn it off. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answers:    The fault is cause by a 1mfd 400vdc electrolytic capacitor in the power supply start circuit . If the set is vanished off for a couple of days consequently they often fall short to start the Switched mode power supply , when warm the capacitor still have a residual charge and just manage to work !!
Of course it is a simple and inexpensive job ( or should be ) .
As a temp determine you may leave set on as long as it is not unattended for long period.
I have done this repair hundreds of times ! I used to love the deceased power supplies !
Cheers Pete
