When I connect my dvd recorder to my TV, the picture is always black and white. How can I remedy this problem?

My TV has no video output.

Answer:
Depends on the TYPE of hookup you're using...

IF you hook up the RCA composite (yellow red and white wires) to a COMPONENT input.you'll only get black and white picture with no color (component is Green red blue, and red white)

Now, if you're using the S-video input on your TV, then you know the black/white and the Color signal is separated.which means your S-video cable is bad or one of the connection points is bad, so you get no color signal into the TV.

Worse yet, is the PINS on the S-Video cable.I have seen one PIN BENT so it doesn't connect, and when you TRY to bend it back it breaks off...
Check your Cable FIRST...even RCA cables have flimsy wires that break.
